The Pattonsburg FFA Chapter held a meeting Feb. 12 to discuss activities that will be held during National FFA Week which is Feb. 16-23.
On the Feb. 17 members attended FFA Sunday at the Pattonsburg Christian Church, in old town. On Feb. 18, members recognized their production agriculture roots by dressing as their favorite farmer or their favorite farm animal.
The FFA Pride Day was Feb. 19 with members driving their tractor/lawn tractor to school and members dress up in gold and blue. They showed their appreciation for faculty by providing them with FFA mementoes in their school mailboxes. Faculty members were also challenged by a contest that members have created for them about agriculture. The winning faculty member received a gift card. To finish out the day members participated in a scavenger hunt and held their chapter meeting where a Missouri State FFA Officer was a guest speaker.
Battle of the Brands is Feb. 20. Members dress up in their favorite agriculture brands such as CASE or John Deere. Official Dress day will be Feb. 21. On this day FFA committees and officers will be giving presentations throughout the elementary. Some of these presentations include Race into Reading with the fourth grade; Food for America for Kindergarten through second grade; third grade will receive an interactive presentation on Farm Bureau’s Food Check Out Day. On Feb. 22 all members and officers will be attending the Farm Show in Kansas City to learn more about technology and careers involving agriculture.
