Graveside services and burial for John Broadstone were held Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Hopkins Cemetery. Arrangements were by Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany.

John E. Broadstone, 104, Bethany, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at a local health-care center.
Mr. Broadstone was born near Robinson, Ill., on July 28, 1903, to Arthur and Christina (Linbarger) Broadstone.
He worked on B-29’s during World War II in Omaha, Neb., and farmed the rest of his life near Parnell and McFall.
Mr. Broadstone was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Edna, in August of 1986; two brothers; four sisters; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Marvin of Holt; and two daughters, Helen Beedle of St. Joseph, and Irene Murray of New Hampton; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
