All staff, including cook Laura Gunderson, are actively involved in yearly Head Start staff development and training programs.
The local Head Start Staff Development and Training Program provides staff with training to improve job performance and opportunities for career advancement within the program. Training needs are determined through yearly individual staff training needs assessments and professional development plans.
The Child Development Associate (CDA) Program was initiated in repose to a growing need to upgrade and enhance the quality of skills for those providing early care and education services to children in center and home-based child care programs. The foundation of the CDA program is based upon a set of competency standards, the criteria used to evaluate a caregiver’s performance with children and families.
The CDA credential is a widely accepted credential and is considered a benchmark for processionals in the early care and education field.
