Funeral services for Ethel Stewart were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Bethany. Burial was in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany. Arrangements were by the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany.

Ethel Stewart, 87, St. Joseph, formerly of Bethany, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008.
Mrs. Stewart was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Bethany, the daughter of Francis Omer and Leona Gladys (Groom) Vandivert.
She had served as vice-president of the First National Bank in Bethany.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bethany; and a Sunday School teacher.
On June 1, 1941, she married Paul Stewart. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Edward Eugene Stewart; two brothers, William Harold Vandivert and Vane Vandivert; and a sister, Bertha Lee Stewart.
Other survivors include one sister, Betty Peters, Gallatin; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
