The Lady Bulldog stayed in the GRC title hunt with a 45-27 victory at King City last Friday. Gallatin’s girls trail Hamilton and South Harrison by a game with only a couple of weeks left in the regular season. Hamilton and South Harrison have yet to face each other in conference play. Likewise, a Gallatin and South Harrison meeting looms ahead on Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs held a comfortable 27-6 lead over the Lady Wildkats at the break. Courtney Ray finished with 19 points to lead the winners. Ashley Owens hit double figures with 10.
Gallatin’s boys got a solid, balanced scoring effort across the board but it wasn’t enough as the Wildkats claimed a 74-62 conference win.
Kayle Hefley paced the Dogs with 16 points. Jon Brown and Ben Adams each totaled 12. Andy Ward added 10 for the Bulldogs. Derrick Sprague also contributed eight for Gallatin.
Following Friday’s home tilts with South Harrison, Gallatin teams host Princeton on Tuesday and Stanberry on the following Friday.
Last night’s (Tuesday) scheduled games at Maysville will be made up at a later date.
