The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of education voted to extend Superintendent Cheryl Cornett’s contract for one year during their regular meeting held Wednesday, Jan. 16.

The board will look at proposals for security cameras in February. Anyone interested in submitting a proposal should contact the superintendent.
After returning from an executive session, the board accepted the resignation of Karri Schelll, FACS teacher, effective at the end of the school year.
Bills were approved for payment.
Reports were heard regarding attendance and enrollment.
The board approved a motion for the juniors to provide the prom supper for the seniors.
The School Health Index Improvement Plan, which is part of a grant from Health and Senior Services, was approved. The grant pays for school nursing services.
Reserve money in the amount of $200,000 was placed into two CDs in order to earn a higher yield.
School Report Card was discussed. R-2 met the No Child Left Behind guidelines along with the Annual Yearly Performance requirements at both the elementary and high school.
Board members present at the Jan. 16 meeting were Craig Lambert; Lincoln Cornett; Patty Hartley; Jason Teel and Eugene Thatcher. Absent were Ben deJong and Diane Hulett.
