The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a local public hearing on Feb. 11 to receive customer comment on a natural gas rate case filed by Missouri Gas Utility, Inc.

This local public hearing will also give customers an opportunity to bring any service related issues to the commissioner’s attention. The hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Daviess County Library Community Room, 306 West Grand, in Gallatin
Missouri Gas Utility, Inc. is seeking a rate increase of approximately $443,100. This would increase residential rates by approximately 30.27%. For a residential customer using 70 Ccf a month, the increase at the proposed rates would be approximately $24 a month.
The natural gas company is also seeking a weather equalization rider adjustment to increase or decrease monthly charges from September through May to account for any deviation from normal weather.
Missouri Gas Utility, Inc. serves approximately 900 natural gas customers in the communities of Gallatin, Hamilton, Jameson and Coffey in Daviess and Caldwell Counties.
Informal question and answer session begins after 5:30. The local public hearing starts at approximately 6 p.m. and will last until 9 p.m., or until all those who wish to testify have done so, whichever is sooner.
