Memorial services for James Folsom were held Saturday at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Private inurnment was held at Lake Viking Cemetery, Gallatin.

James Edward Folsom, 66, Independence, formerly of the Jamesport area, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
Mr. Folsom was born Oct. 20, 1941, to William E. And Odie G. (Neal) Folsom in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He lived most of life in the Jamesport, Trenton and Chillicothe areas.
Mr. Folsom was employed at Montgomery Ward in Kansas City, where he was a shipping and receiving supervisor for 19 years. In the late 90’s he moved to Independence to be near his family.
Mr. Folsom was preceded in death by his mother and father, grandparents, Chub and Francis Neal, Frank and Bell Folsom, and his brother Danny Lee Folsom.
Survivors include three daughters, Julie Ann Handy, Kansas City, Lisa Wood, Raytown, and Gina Folsom, Chillicothe; one sister, Phyllis Rizzo, Independence; one brother, Jerry Folsom, Independence; half siblings, David Tatum, Trenton, and Brenda Tatum, Independence; and five grandchildren.
