Injuries have taken a toll on the Bulldogs. Senior Cody Selby remains sidelined with a groin injury. Sophomore Levi Michener, who finished third at state last season in the 103-pound class, saw his undefeated season ended due to a Christmas break accident that separated his right shoulder, broke a bone in his arm and required surgery.

Bulldog wrestlers fell to Hamilton, 52-24, last Thursday night in the PHS gym. Anton Steele (125), Brandon Ness (135), Matt Atkinson (152), Jordan Phelps (189) and Nick Lagodny (275) were match winners for Gallatin.

Ness and Hamilton’s Cole Crawford provided the night’s most exciting match that pivoted back and forth with lead changes. Ness led, 15-14, with 10 seconds left in the match when he cemented the win with three back points.

Andrew Hood, wrestling for Gallatin in the 140-pound class against Bobby Gates, lost a tough match by pin when he led, 12-11, heading into the final minute.
