A Gallatin woman and three people from Bethany were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, in Harrison County.
According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, David Peery, 50, Bethany, was northbound on Hwy. 13, seven miles south of Bethany. The vehicle lost control in the ice-covered roadway, crossed the centerline, and slid sideways into a vehicle driven by Cheryl Garlick, 61, Gallatin, who was southbound.
The Peery vehicle came to rest in a ditch off the southbound side of the road and the Garlick vehicle came to rest on the southbound shoulder.
Three passengers in the Peery vehicle, his fiancee, Regina Fordyce, 57, and his two daughters, Paige, 16, and Trista, 11, all of Bethany, were taken to Harrison County Hospital by private vehicle. Trista and Mrs. Fordyce both received minor injuries. Paige received moderate injuries. Mrs. Garlick received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. All were wearing their seat belts.
Mr. Peery’s vehicle, a 1999 Jeep, and Ms. Garlick’s vehicle, a 2000 Ford, were extensively damaged and towed by Southside of Bethany.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. H. Cowan.
Mr. Peery received summons for DWI, failure to drive on right half of roadway, no insurance, and no seat belt.
Jacob W. Terry, 20, Jamesport, received minor injuries in an accident that occurred at about 4:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, in Daviess County. Mr. Terry was traveling southbound on Hwy. 69, about five miles north of Cameron. His 1990 Chevrolet Astro Van crossed the center line, and while attempting to return to the southbound lane the driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the east side of the roadway, struck a field entrance, and overturned. The van came to rest on its wheels, facing north in the filed.
Mr. Terry was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Daviess County Ambulance.
The van was totaled and towed by Bridgeman’s Tow. He was wearing his seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. Travis Goolsby, assisted by Daviess County Ambulance and KAW First Responders.
No summons issued.
Two men from Kidder were injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:15 p.m. on Rt. HH, two-and-a-half miles west of Kingston.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 1, as Robert Shipley, 19, was westbound on Rt. HH, driving a 2000 Chevrolet. His vehicle struck a patch of ice, skidded off the south side of the roadway, overturned, went through a fence, and ejected the driver. The Chevrolet came to rest on its side in a pasture.
Mr. Shipley received moderate injuries and a passenger in the vehicle, Garrett Henderson, 16, received minor injuries. Both were taken by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital.
The Chevrolet was extensively damaged and towed by Walkers of Hamilton.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. C. Primm, assisted by Cpl. M. Belshe, Tpr. S.D. Isringhausen, and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
