During their regular meeting held Monday, Dec. 10, Gallatin City Administrator Zac Johnson told the Gallatin Board of Aldermen that the cost of wholesale electricity is still projecting the same prices for the upcoming year.
Police Chief Mark Richards reported on activity from Nov. 26 to Dec. 10. Reports Taken/Tickets Given: 1 – Property Damage; 1 – Burglary; 1 – Possession of a Controlled Substance; 1 – Accident; 3 – Warrant Arrest. There are seven dogs in the pound. Chief Richards stated that they have had some heating problems in the pound but those should be resolved now.
Bills in the amount of $151,073.95 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on revising the dog ordinances for the city.
An ordinance amending the budget for the fiscal year 2007 received first and second readings.
Discussion was held on the financial statement and on the 2008 proposed budget..
The board re-scheduled the second board meeting of the month from Dec. 24 to Dec. 20 at 12 noon.
Comments by aldermen were made regarding a broken utility pole on East Berry.
Mayor Ballew commented about the employee Christmas dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 at Cycles.
The board entered into closed session pursuant to legal actions and litigation and hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting employees.
Public comment was made regarding the 2008 proposed budget.
