Funeral services for Lloyd Landes will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Interment will be at Hickory Creek Cemetery near Jameson. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hickory Creek Cemetery, Jameson.

Lloyd Landes, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 at his farm northeast of Jameson.
Mr. Landes was born Feb. 6, 1921, to Alonzo and Nancy (Beals) Landes in Dodge City, Kan. His family moved to the family farm in Missouri northeast of Jameson in 1933. He graduated from Coffey High School in 1941.
Mr. Landes was a World War II Veteran in the U.S. Army Medical Corps serving his country for three years in Europe. After being discharged in 1945 Lloyd came back to Jameson to take care of his ageing parents and the farm. Lloyd retired from farming at the age of 76 but continued to mow his CRP land, bale hay and tend the roads in his area.
Mr. Landes was preceded in death by five brothers, Ora, Cecil, Earl, Glenn and Ivan, and his sister, Inez Fry.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Daniel of Pattonsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
