Deputy Todd Watson arrived at 14223 242nd Street in Jameson at about 5:40 p.m. Shannon T. McCrary, who had placed the 9-1-1 call, was at the scene and took Deputy Watson to the location, about 100 yards from the residence.
It appeared that Lloyd Landes, 86, was operating a red tricycle style Farmall tractor down a rough and rutted embankment, pulling a wood trailer. The tractor’s front tires fell into a large rut and turned the tractor towards the west.
The tractor rolled over, pinning Mr. Landes under the tractor seat. Mr. Landes appears to have died at the time of the accident, which was probably several hours earlier in the day.
Mr. McCrary had been deer hunting on Mr. Landes’ property. He was transporting a deer to Mr. Landes residence when he observed the scene of the accident, which was along the same path.
