Peace Around the World is the theme for the International Lions contest this year. Twenty-seven students, ages 11 to 14, participated at Winston. They join thousands of students throughout the world who express their hope for world peace through their art.
Tim Morrison is their teacher at Winston.
Courntey will be awarded $25 as the school winner this year. She and her parents have been invited to the Jan. 17 meeting of the Lake Viking Lions Club. On that night she will be presented with the check.
As a winner at Winston, Courtney’s poster will be entered in the district competition. The winner of the district contest will enter the state contest, with the possibility of moving on to the international competition. That winner will be invited to visit the Lion’s Day at the United Nations in New York City.
