Michael Williamson, 35, Pattonsburg, was arrested Nov. 14, after a search warrant was executed for his property at 16604 Elmwood Avenue to search for conservation violations. The search revealed illegal deer antlers, timber rattlesnakes, bobcats, unidentified animal carcasses, turkey heads and a fox.

The investigation revealed that Williamson was in violation of the following: taking an antler deer in closed season, illegal possession of deer or parts thereof, failure to properly label stored wildlife, possession of protected species of wildlife, and possession of unlabeled wildlife. He was charged with seven misdemeanor wildlife offenses, one count of taking wildlife illegally and six counts of possession of wildlife illegally. Bond was denied.

Michael Schofield, 31, Jamesport, was arrested Nov. 19 for unlawful use of weapon, class D felony, as well as four misdemeanors, possession of marijuana, domestic assault third degree, and drug paraphernalia – two counts. He is being held on $15,000 bond.

Jerimy Roeder, 28, Independence, was charged Nov. 13 with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, class D felony, two counts, as well as misdemeanor possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, and endangering welfare of child, class A misdemeanor. He is being held on $15,000 bond.

County Commission

Don Ohlberg, bridge foreman, reported that they are repairing wooden bridge floors this week.

Dave Wilson, Gallatin Rotary Club, met with the commission regarding colored lighting on the courthouse during the holiday season. He suggested colored floodlights and 8-foot wreaths.

The commission consulted with Annie Gibson, prosecuting attorney, regarding court rulings.

Upon recommendation of the county clerk, the commissioners voted to pay from the emergency funds some prisoner medical costs billed for 25% of prisoner insurance, as unanimously agreed upon by the commission at the Sept. 24 meeting.

The commission was notified by Jackson Township of the appointment of Gary Critten to the Jackson Township board following the resignation of Michelle Smith.

Keith Gay, Union Township, contacted the commission questioning the Corps of Engineers’ inspection at the Magill bridge.

The clerk reported that the appointments for the Senior Citizens’ Services Board are now complete. The commission determined the term length alphabetically. Those serving are Walter Burnett, one year; Carolee Dixon and Linda Evans, two years; Jack Mooney and Betty Trimble, three years; Janice Vanderslice and Worth Yost, four years. An organizational meeting will be held Dec. 3, 2007.

Associate Circuit Court

Judge Jason Kanoy presided over the following case: John A. Kolega, St. Joseph, driving while intoxicated, 48 hours jail, (board bill paid by defendant), $500 fine plus court costs.

Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $802.50 for 15 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $1,042 for 21 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:

A change of venue to Jackson County was granted for a breach of contract case by Ford Motor Company against Lisa M. Marrs.

A default judgment was entered for Asset Acceptance and against Steven D. Loyd on a breach of contract.

A default judgment was entered for Midland Funding and against Kevin Wayne for a suit on account.

A suit for replevin by Green Tree Servicing LLC against Gregory Lollar was dismissed by the parties.

A petition for driver’s license revocation review by Keenan Critten against the Department of Revenues was dismissed by the parties.
