The commission was contacted by the Amish Community regarding bridge safety. The bridge department was instructed to place a middle runway on wooden bridge floors in that part of the county.

James Lewis, bridge supervisor, reported that they are continuing repairs on bridges and culverts. Also, the mower will be repaired and brush removal resumed.

The commission was notified of the resignation of Roger Hess from the Sheridan Township Board, and J.L. McFee was appointed to fill that vacancy.

Bills were audited and paid.

Kevin Heldenbrand, sheriff, reported that the county has saved $296,963 in prisoner board this fiscal year to date.

Annie Gibson, prosecuting attorney, reported that ceiling repairs are needed in her office. She will have the repairs made.

The clerk reported that two tables and 11 chairs, purchased with election services funds, are missing from the courthouse.

These are the approved minutes of Nov. 5,2007. All commissioners were present.

Circuit Court

On a plea agreement, Robert Danner plead guilty Nov. 13 to felonious restraint, class C felony, and received a suspended imposition of sentence, five years probation and 40 days shock time with credit for time served. The jury trial scheduled for Nov. 15-16 is canceled. The case was heard by Judge Jason Kanoy.

Criminal cases filed: State vs. Dietricha Durtschi, Jameson, leaving scene of accident, class A misdemeanor, property damage second degree, class B misdemeanor, stealing a motor vehicle, class C felony.

A dissolution of marriage was granted Nov. 6 to Lortha Jean Buckler from Tony William Buckler. Her maiden name Bonebright was restored.

Sheriff’s Department

David E. Seamands was charged Nov. 9 with operating vehicle without valid license, third and subsequent offense, class D felony. He is being held on $35,000 bond.

Jammica Townsend, 28, and Nyrise Cordell, 28, both of Minneapolis, Minn., were arrested Nov. 11 for possession of marijuana, class A misdemeanor. They are each being held on $500 bond.

William Woolf, 26, Park Hill, was arrested Nov. 9 for failure to appear on an original misdemeanor charge of no valid license. He is being held on $700 bond.

Michele L. Fees, 36, Jamesport, was charged Nov. 7 with misdemeanor no valid license and posted $300 bond. She was charged Nov. 9 with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, class A misdemeanor, and is being held on $1,500 bond.

Wesley Kriegel, 48, and Sandra Kriegel, 46, Jamesport, were arrested Nov. 7 on a Clay County felony warrant for forgery. Bond was set at $5,000 each. They are being held in Clay County.

Ernest Wall, 25, Marshall, Texas, was arrested Nov. 11 for driving while revoked, class A misdemeanor. He posted $500 bond.

Angela Ruch, 29, Winston, was arrested Nov. 11 on a DeKalb County warrant for bad checks, as well as Shelby County warrants for passing bad checks and speeding. Total bond was $1,450. She was transferred to DeKalb County custody.

Tiffany Smith, 37, Kansas City, was arrested Nov. 12 for misdemeanor peace disturbance. She was processed and held for 12-hour detoxification. A summons for peace disturbance was issued.

Scotty Curtis, 32, Altamont, was arrested Nov. 9 for speeding 95 mph in a 55 mph zone. He posted $350 bond.

Associate Circuit Court

Rudy A. Gingerich, Jamesport, was charged Nov. 9 with one count of non-support, class D felony.

Defendants found guilty in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County are listed below with the offense and fine assessed. Additionally, court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $66.50 for moving traffic violations and $114.50 in most criminal cases.

Scott H. Farrow, Peculia, criminal non-support probation violation, probation revoked, six months jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation.

Mary F. Bass, Gallatin, driving while intoxicated, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, 30 hours community service.

William M. Stevens, Shawnee, Kan., taking deer after legal shooting hours, $150.

Danny L. Spurling, Coffey, speeding, $58.50.

Dennis J. Oneal, Bethany, speeding 103 mph in 70 mph zone, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant), $250.

Austin P. Hiestand, Kansas City, possession of marijuana, five days jail, abuse and lose order; possession of paraphernalia, two days jail.

Jacob J. Burnett, Kansas City, possession of marijuana, probation violations, two counts, probation revoked, three days jail on first count, two days jail on second count (board bill paid by defendant).

Lisa A. Smith, Kansas City, possession of drug paraphernalia, five days jail, $25 fine.

Jamie S. Hamerle, Richmond, no valid license, $150; speeding $88.50.

Walter G. Stagner, Jameson, domestic assault, suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation supervised for six months.

Charles E. Frederick, Jamesport, driving while intoxicated, 10 days jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation supervised; failure to drive on right half of roadway amended by prosecuting attorney to defective equipment, $200.

John T. Silvey, Hamilton, take deer from motor vehicle, $154; take deer during closed season, $154.

Sammy L. Hamshire, Vidor, Texas, no valid license, $150.

Bryce A. Housley, Indianola, Iowa, driving while intoxicated, $350, one day jail (board bill paid by defendant); failure to drive in right lane, $143.50.

Darren C. Ware, Ottumwa, Iowa, possession of marijuana, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant), abuse and lose order; possession of paraphernalia, $150, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant); speeding $28.50.

Ronald L. Tarepin, Winston, minor in possession of liquor probation violation, probation revoked, 10 days jail; theft/stealing probation violation, probation revoked, one year jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation supervised; property damage probation violation, probation revoked, six months jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation supervised; animal abuse probation violation probation revoked, 6 months jail, suspended execution of sentence, two years probation supervised.

Dennis D. Gripenberg, West Des Moines, Iowa, possession of marijuana, 48 hours jail (board bill paid by defendant) abuse and lose order; possession of paraphernalia, $150.

Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $1,022 for 15 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $337.50 for 5 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:

Speeding amended by prosecuting attorney to defective equipment: Donald F. Strange, Weatherby, $143.50.

Speeding: Judith L. Gordon, Grandview, $58.50.

Vision reducing material: Nancy J. Gabriel, Easton, $28.50.

Christina R. Law, Raymore was fined $58.50 for speeding; $48.50 for careless and imprudent.

Civil Court

A default judgment for Asset Acceptance and against Angie D. Waterbury was entered on a breach of contract case.

A consent judgment for a suit on account was entered for Midland Funding LLC and against Robin Delp. A suit on account by LVNV Funding against Tracy Dixon was dismissed by the court without prejudice.

Jason D. Holmes vs. Missouri Department of Revenue was dismissed by the parties in a breathalyzer refusal case.
