Kristy (Dickson) Burton, daughter of Sandy Dickson of Gallatin, received her doctorate in clinical psychology, with honors, during graduation ceremonies at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield on Saturday, Oct. 20.

Dr. Burton graduated from Gallatin High School in 1985. She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Ruby Teel and sister of Ron Dickson, Lisa Tolen and Shalena Dickson, all of Gallatin. She also has several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins in the Gallatin area.
Dr. Burton lives in Nixa with her children, Malorie Allen, 21, and Tyler Allen, 15, and her husband, Dr. Keith Vunesky. She currently teaches for Drury University and Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, both in Springfield, and sees patients in her private practice.
Dr. Burton treats children and adults with a variety of psychological problems. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, women’s issues, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and childhood disorders.
Dr. Burton treats patients in individual, couples, family, and group therapy, and utilizes play therapy for children.
