One burglary occurred Oct. 8 at the Scott Colby #5 farm, when Daviess County officers and two Highway Patrol officers responded in the early morning hours to a call from PSF security. Flashlights were visible inside the Scott Colby #5 farm, and the five officers conducted an extensive search of the entire complex of buildings.
The search lasted 2-1/2 to 3 hours and included each swine barn and each maintenance barn; however, officers believe that the suspects had exited the building before officers arrived.
Items stolen are swine medications for the most part. The Daviess County Sheriff’s office is currently researching what these medications could be used for.  There were no signs of forced entry at any crime scene.
The medications taken include Naxcel, Excede, Marquis, Lute, Polyflex, and Lutalyse. Other miscellaneous items taken during the burglaries include a Craftsman tool set, fog machine, fuel, an air compressor, syringes, and some mag lights.
Other Daviess County burglaries occurred Sept. 2 at the Scott Colby #5 Farm (Highway 190 and Missouri Route B); Sept. 23 at the same farm; Sept. 31 at the Scott Colby #6 Farm (adjacent to the #5 farm);  Oct. 2 at Hickory Creek #1 (Highway 13 and Forest Ave.); Oct. 2 at Hickory Creek #2 (adjacent to #1 farm); Oct. 2 at Scott Colby #3 (Highway 190 and 3rd Southwest Street), Oct. 2 at Scott Colby #4 (adjacent to #3 farm); Oct. 2 at Scott Colby #5 and #6; Oct. 2 at Scott Colby #7 (unknown location); and Oct. 2 at Sharp 8 (unknown location).
Premium Standard Farms do not have 911 addresses.
The investigation is ongoing.  Law enforcement officials from the three affected counties are planning to meet on Oct. 19.
