Mary Beth Marrs, daughter of Dean and Violet Merrigan of Coffey, began at the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Business in 2000 and has served as the assistant dean for undergraduate progra.m.s with oversight of the Office of Advising and Business Career Services since July 2003.

Now she has the added responsibility of working with the dean on major mission-related and administrative projects.
Dr. Marrs has been involved with many student organizations and the college’s Recent Alumni Advisory Board.
She was chosen by College of Business students as Faculty Member of the Year on four occasions, has received n Excellence in Education Award at the ca.m.pus level, was na.m.ed Teacher of the Year by the Kansas City Business Alumni Chapter, and earned the college’s O’Brien Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007.
Dr. Marrs received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from MU, and later returned to ca.m.pus to earn an MBA degree and a PhD degree in business.
