A surprise early birthday party was held for Mary Ellen Green on Sunday, Sept. 9, in the home of Bill and Kim Green. Those in attendance were Donald and Mary Ellen Green, Mary and Paul Greenblatt, and Bill, Kim, James, and Gus Green. Mary Ellen will observe her 80th birthday on Oct. 2.
Those visiting Jim and Kathy Bray over the weekend were Chris Hurst, Sam Diego, Calif., Dominic Hurst, Rosendale, grandsons Austin and Michael Hurst, Savannah.
Sunday evening visitors of J.T. and Loretta Newby were Anita and C.R. West of Bethany, Brent and Marquitta Brown of Coffey and Rick Carter.
Chuck Sims, Independence, visited Gilbert and Betty Bird Sunday.
Mildred Neff and her daughter-in-law Mary Neff came Friday evening to visit her sister Betty Cameron and they all attended the McFall School reunion Saturday. They also all visited Darrel Fanning in Cameron. Mildred and Mary returned to their home Sunday.
Shirley Fansher, Kansas City, visited Norma Crabtree Saturday.
Kenneth and Evelyn Dilley, Shelbey, and Cole Dilley, Bill and Mary Lou Browning, Gallatin, went to Lawson Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dilley. They were helping Gary celebrate his birthday.
Larry Shipers, Gallatin, and Mildred Huff spent second and third of September in Joplin. They went to visit Richard Shipers in the Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Richard had a motorcycle and deer accident the last day of August and had broken ribs, collarbone and punctured lung. He will be in the hospital several days.
Clarnita Vought, Stover, came Wednesday to visit Beverly Mason. Ed Mason, Independence, also visited on Wednesday. Clarnita returned to her home early Saturday morning.
Wednesday evening J.C. and Maudie Youngs, McFall, visited Letha Shipers.
Woodrow and Maxine Morris and Dorlene Mann met Bill and Cheryl Adams at Des Moines, Iowa, Sunday where they celebrated the 40th wedding anniversary of Bill and Cheryl.
Muriel Watson, Bethany, stopped in to visit with Leroy and Janelle Mikes Saturday afternoon. She had been attending the McFall School reunion.
Elanor Best spent several days last week visiting Dan and Kathy Burger and their sons Andy and Mark at St. Louis.
Visiting Martha Lea Huff Sunday were Crista Sweiger, Jason and Tamara Huff and daughter Nathalie, Matt Huff and friend Rhonda and Rick Huff.
Paul and Sally Schweedler, Jeff, Steven and Courtney spent the weekend at Coloney flea market and Sunday at the Kansas City Royal’s ball game.
Saturday Forrest and Jeanna Morris visited Woodrow and Maxine Morris.
