A celebration of life for Mildred Kimmel was held Saturday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N. Antioch, Gladstone.

Mildred M. Kimmel, 94, Pleasant Valley, formerly of Winston, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Pleasant Valley Manor.
Mrs. Kimmel was born Oct. 29, 1912, in Sheldon, Iowa, to Frank and Mary Perkins. She was a graduate of Sheldon High School.
She married Paul Kimmel. They moved to the Kansas City North area in 1952 and to Winston in 1974.
Mrs. Kimmel, a homemaker, was a member of the Winston United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution, a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Winston City Council.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Larry and Ronald Kimmel; grandson, Loren Kimmel; and her beloved husband of 73 years, Paul.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Apple; one son, Roger Kimmel; 14 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
