Michael Everman, Assistant Director of Bands at Smithville School District and Director of Bands at Kansas City Christian School in Prairie Village, Kan., was inducted into the Missouri Bandmasters Hall of Fame at the 39th MBA Annual Convention, Lake of the Ozarks, on June 25.

Mr. Everman became the 37th honoree in the history of the Missouri Bandmasters Association.
His first band years started in Gallatin under the direction on Mr. Bill Mack, followed by Mr. Gene Holt, and Mr. Herman Ritittke.
Upon graduation from GHS in 1963, he entered college at Central Missouri State University. He later received his Masters degree from Northwest Missouri State University.
He is currently Assistant Director of Bands in the Smithville School District, Director of Bands at Kansas City Christian School, and Orchestra Director at Platte Woods United Methodist Church
Mike Everman continues to inspire excellence in music-making from students, among them, his daughter Elizabeth, 17, and son Collin,12.
He and his wife Sheila reside in Smithville and are also parents to Jenna, age 9.
