Laureate Delta Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi began the new year at President Lois Barton’s home with 15 members enjoying an ice cream social.

Lois called on the different committee chairmen to discuss the plans for the year. Yearbooks were passed out, service projects were announced and beginning plans for the homes tour were discussed. The date for the Christmas homes tour is Dec. 2. Anita Riley, guest, presented a virtual tour of the Hughes home, which has been recently sold. The program “Getting to know your Neighbors” was enjoyed by all. Peggy Noel hosted a dinner for members on Sept. 10 prior to the regular meeting. She presented her program with a tour of her backyard gardens. During the business meeting, the chapter voted to donate to the swim program and the GHS band for their upcoming Cotton Bowl trip, as well as the State Beta Sigma Phi service project. The next meeting will be Sept. 17 at the home of Barbara Irby.
