Three people were injured in a one vehicle accident at about 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, in Daviess County, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred as Jesse Matkin, 25, Patterson, was northbound in the passing lane of I-35, nine miles north of Cameron. The vehicle’s left rear tire blew out and the driver lost control. The 1998 Ford Explorer traveled off the east side of the highway, rolled once, and came to rest on its wheels in the east ditch.
Mr. Matkin and two passengers were taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Charles Lawson, 26, Jackson, and Amanda Tobin, 18, Patterson, received moderate injuries. Mr. Matkin received minor injuries. None were wearing their seat belts.
The vehicle was totaled and towed by Bridgeman’s of Altamont. The accident was investigated by Sgt. S.A. Shipers, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
Driver given summons for seat belt violation.
Four people, including Jenny Stanhope of Gallatin, were injured in an accident at about 3:35 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, in DeKalb County.
The accident occurred as Brandon Osborn, 22, Maysville, was eastbound on Southeast Rogers Road at Grindstone Reservoir in Cameron, when he failed to negotiate a curve. The 1995 Ford Explorer traveled off of the east side of Rogers Road, down an embankment, struck a tree, and came to rest in a ditch.
Mr. Osborn and three passengers were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by DeKalb County Ambulance and Cameron Ambulance. Receiving moderate injuries were Mr. Osborn, Robert Nold, 20, Maysville, Andrew Stahl, 21, Maysville, and Jenny Stanhope, 20, Gallatin. All were wearing their seat belt, except for Mr. Stahl.
The Explorer was totaled and towed by Scotty’s Tow of Cameron. The accident was investigated by Tpr. A.K. Griffin, assisted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and the Cameron Police Department.
Summons pending.
Four people were injured in an accident at about 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, in Daviess County.
The accident occurred as Laura Protti, 31, Leavenworth, Kan., was traveling southbound on I-35 at about the 63 mile marker. She reached for an item in the back seat and lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the median. The 2001 Honda CRV overturned multiple times, coming to rest on its wheels in the median.
Taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Cameron Ambulance and Daviess County Ambulance, all with minor injuries, were the driver, Mrs. Protti, and her husband, Jose, 39, their daughter, Florence, an infant, and their son, Francisco, 2.
The Honda was totaled and towed by Bridgeman’s of Altamont. The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.P. Lynch, assisted by the Tpr. A.K. Griffin, Cpl. R.A. Sherman, and the Daviess County Ambulance Service.
No summons was issued.
