The eighth annual Relay for Life will take place Saturday Aug. 25, starting at 6 p.m., through Sunday, Aug. 26, ending at 6 a.m., on the Daviess County Courthouse lawn.

In case of inclement weather, the event will take place at the Gallatin High School gymnasium. The public is invited to participate in the event, so bring your lawn chair and come enjoy the entertainment, food and games and help fight cancer.
Schedule of events is as follows:
3 p.m. <197> Talent show registration (fee);
4:30 p.m. <197> Survivor luncheon at the Daviess County Country Club;
6 p.m. <197> Relay starts with survivor laps; Basket auction begins;
6:30 p.m. <197> Comedy act with Bo Cramner;
6:45 <197> Baby Show registration (fee) – casual dress;
8:30 <197> Basket Auction ends;
9 p.m. <197> Lighting of Luminaries.
Relay for Life has 15 teams participating with a variety of events lined up for the entire family to enjoy. DJ service is provided by D&J Sound System.

The luminaria form below is to be filled out "In Memory Of" or "In Honor Of" a cancer survivor. Cost is $5 each.
THE LUMINARIA CELEBRATIONAt 9 p.m. on Saturday night, a luminaria celebration will be held to remember those who have lost their battle to cancer, in addition to honoring those cancer survivors who are battling or who have won the battle. The ceremony will include a reading of the names of the loved ones who are listed on the luminaria bags. As the names are read, each bag will be lit. In addition to attending the Relay For Life, you are invited to light a luminaria in honor of or in memory of a loved one. If you are unable to attend, we will light one for you. A donation of $5 per name on a luminaria is requested and all funds received will be credited to the Daviess County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
