Mary-Ann Leichti was hired as bookkeeper and Angela Fuller was hired as high school secretary during the regular meeting of the Winston R-6 Board of Education held Thursday, Aug. 16.
Tax Rate Hearing was held and set at $3.1975.
The school’s assessed valuation is as follows: Real property: Prior Tax Year – $14,587,445; Current Tax Year – $15,261,061. Personal Property: Prior Tax Year – $3,679,919; Current Tax Year – $3,864,714. Total: Prior Tax Year – $18,267,364; Current Tax Year – $19,125,775. Revenue Required from Local Taxes: $611,355. Proposed Tax Rate: Incidental Fund – $3.0590; Teacher Fund – $0; Debt Service Fund – $0.1385; Capital Projects – $0; Total $3.1975.
Gimson Pest Control was hired to treat termites and monthly pest control services for the school year.
Conflict of Interest Ordinance was adopted.
Graduation was set for Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 2 p.m.
The Safety Survey conducted by Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., was reviewed.
The board was presented with the preliminary AYP report in which the Winston R-6 School District met all of the standards.
The Technology Program Evaluation was approved.
New board policies were presented.
A thank you letter was received from Cody Youtsey for allowing him to complete his eagle project at the school (new lighted flag poles) at the front of the building.
