According to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol, Mr. Miller was southbound on Hwy. 13 about seven miles southeast of Bethany, when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the road. His 2005 Buick traveled across the center line, off the east side of the road, overcorrected, and swerved back into the southbound lane. Mr. Miller again overcorrected, skidded back across the center line and traveled off the east side of the road. The vehicle then struck multiple trees and came to rest on its wheels.
Mr. Miller was pronounced dead by Dr. Tom Williams at Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany.
The accident was investigated by Sgt. D.P. Little, assisted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and Harrison County Ambulance.
