Graveside services for Ruth Chadwick were held Saturday at Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, near Pattonsburg.
Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin Senior Citizens Center.
Ruth Chadwick, 92, Gallatin, formerly of Jameson, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the Lake Viking Health Care Center.
Mrs. Chadwick was born on Dec. 9, 1914, to William and Minnie (Needham) Nichols in Boone County, Iowa. She spent most of her childhood living in and attending school in Iowa.
On May 16, 1934, she was united in marriage to Lewis Chadwick in Daviess County. After they married, the couple lived on a farm in rural Jameson. In 1967 they moved to town in Jameson and later moved to Gallatin in 1974, where she lived at the Rest East Apartments. Mr. Chadwick, her husband of 36 years, died in 1970.
Mrs. Chadwick volunteered at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Gallatin for several years.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; a daughter, Lois; a son, Marvin; and two granddaughters.
Survivors include one son, Lewis Chadwick, Jameson; one daughter, Helen Hamilton, Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
