Lt. Duane L. Robinson will be promoted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol to the rank of captain and designated troop commander of Troop H, St. Joseph.
Robinson was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1987, as a member of the 59th Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 4, Putnam County. On May 1, 1990, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 1, Macon County.
Robinson was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 1 on Sept. 1, 1994. He was promoted to sergeant on Jan. 1, 1996, and designated zone commander of Troop B, Zone 2, Macon County. On Feb. 1, 2001, he was promoted to lieutenant and transferred to Troop I, Rolla.
Captain Robinson was born in St. Louis. He graduated from Hannibal High School in Hannibal in 1977. He served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1978 to March 1982. Prior to joining the Patrol, he was a Hannibal police officer from 1982 to 1987. Capt. Robinson and his wife, Melody have three children, Shannon, Whitney, and Joshua.
