President Pauline Redman asked for reports on May projects. Pauline Redman, Darlene Patton, Mildred Cox, Jo Rosseter, Peggy Belshe, and Tara Tairent serviced ice cream and cake provided by Auxiliary members, at the monthly birthday party on May 25 at the Veterans Home in Cameron. Each veteran also received a buddy poppy in honor of Memorial Day. Saturday, May 26, the Ladies Auxiliary collected donations for the Buddy Poppy program, at the “4-way stop light” from 8-10 a.m. The money collected stays in our area for the benefit of local veterans and/or their families. The auxiliary is very grateful for the generous response of Gallatin citizens. The VFW Post, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post #68 held a combined Memorial Day ceremony at Hillcrest Cemetery, assisted by the American Legion Post #68, local boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in recognition of those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our county’s freedom. This summer, the auxiliary members will be delivering grave markers for recently departed members. The newly elected officers  will officially take office in July.
