Dr. Gregory Duane Frost is retiring after working for 25 years in the education system in the state of Missouri effective June 30.

Dr. Greg Frost began his career by teaching for five years at Nodaway Holt and King City. He taught physical education, health, driver’s education, 7-9th grade science and coached football, basketball and track. His next six years were spent working as a high school principal in the Plato, North Platte and Platte County R-3 school system.

In 1993 Dr. Frost moved to Bowling Green, where he was the assistant superintendent for seven years in the Bowling Green School District. Then he served as their superintendent for the next four years. During his 2001-2002 years he was chosen as the new superintendent for the year for the northeast Missouri region and also was one of two people from Missouri to serve on the US Secretary of Education’s "No Child Left Behind" task force in Washington, D.C.

His final three years in education administration have been spent as assistant district superintendent for the Platte County R-3 School District in Platte City. Dr. Frost was honored at a reception held on May 15 at the Platte City Middle School as a 2007 retiree from the Platte County R-3 School District.

Dr. Frost is looking forward to a career change of working for OPAA! Food Management, Inc., beginning July 1, 2007. OPAA! Is a nutrition management company serving 60 public school districts across the state of Missouri based in Chesterfield.

Dr. Frost will work in business development, visiting existing school district clients as well as trying to get new clients for the food service.

Dr. Frost is the son of Duane and Ruth Frost and grandson of Irene Frost of Gallatin.
