The Seventh Day Adventist Community Service Center is adding a two-story extension.

"We were invading classrooms," said church member Karen Reed. "We just needed more room."

Free clothing and commodities will be located on the top floor of new building. A basement will connect to the original thrift shop.

Workers began on the 30 x 60 building the first of June. The shell is expected to be completed by the end of June or sooner. Utility work will then begin and the building is expected to be finished by the end of July or first of August.

Contributions from the public to help toward the new building would be greatly appreciated. The Seventh Day Adventist is a small church and the thrift store performs a valuable community service. The basement will also serve the community as a storm shelter for that end of town.

An open house will be announced some time in the future, Mrs. Reed said.
