James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission reporting that work from the flood damage was all repaired except for one tube at Peggy branch in Benton Township.

Danny Heldenbrand reported that he had attended the Health Department Board meeting last week, visiting with them about health insurance.

Lance Critten reported that he attended the Workforce Investment Board in Trenton last week.

The trustee from Altamont met with the commission inquiring about road maintenance; he was directed to the township board.

Danny Smith met with the commission about brush on a bridge over Larry Creek.

In the afternoon the commissioners inspected brush in Washington, Salem, Jefferson and Liberty Townships.

Sheriff’s Department

Roy Robinson, 39, Braymer, was arrested June 18 on felony charges of theft/stealing. The arrest is in connection with a theft at Landes Oil, Jamesport, which was caught on surveillance tape on the afternoon of June 2. He is being held on $25,000 bond.

Andy Werner, 45, Greenwood, Ark., was arrested June 15 for felony possession of controlled substance. He was also charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $35,000 bond.

Cathy Michael, 35, Kidder, was charged June 13 with misdemeanor passing bad checks. She posted $750 bond.

William S. Landes, 49, Jamesport was arrested June 14 on a misdemeanor Jackson County warrant for non-support. He posted $7,500 bond.

Associate Circuit Court

Stephen P. Allen, Jamesport, was charged June 14 with two counts of class D felony non-support.

Traffic Fines

The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Associate Division of the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fine plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $899.50 for 17 tickets. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $1,077.50 for 20 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $56.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:

No seat belt: William L. Cook, Columbia, $10; Christine E. Moulton, Gallatin, $10.

Speeding: Dovie L. Loftin, Jameson, $58.50; Scott L. Buck, Cameron, $28.50; Cara N. Davis, Independence, $88.50; Ryan M. Arthur, Joplin, $58.50; Deborah L. Kinnison, Trenton, $58.50.

Vision reducing material: Kimberly S. Rogers, Albany, $28.50; David S. Jeannin, Lone Jack, $28.50; Colby O. Graham, Bethany, $28.50.

Speeding amended by prosecuting attorney to defective brakes: Jasmine E. Pasley, Kansas City, $143.50; Lucas W. Dray, Smithville, $143.50; Beth A. Rice, Raytown, $143.50; Kenneth E. Pannell, Peculiar, $143.50.

Jessica S. Essig, Richmond, was fined $28.50 for speeding and $10 for no seat belt.

Philip E. Moorhead, Kansas City, was fined $28.50 for failure to register vehicle and $10 for no seat belt.

Michael M. Holliday, New Hampton, was fined $18.50 for failure to display valid plates and $10 for no seat belt.

Marriages

Clifford Comadore Carman and Linda Jo Wick, both of Trenton, were married June 15 by Judge Daren Adkins.

Circuit Court

Damion Montez Jackson, Des Moines, Iowa, was sentenced to four years DOC for possession of controlled substance, class C felony, during Law Day on June 19. Other cases heard on Law Day will be reported next week.

A dissolution of marriage granted to James Lyle Diven from Sonia Elena Gomez by Judge Warren McElwain on June 13.

Criminal cases filed: State vs. Robert Danner, Gallatin, assault third degree, class A misdemeanor; State vs. Paula J. Purcell, possession of controlled substance, class A misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, class A misdemeanor; possession of controlled substance, class C felony, distribution of less than five grams marijuana, class C felony.
