The Trojanettes finished 2-3 in the Basehor tournament but came back strong with a 6-0 showing and championship finish in Independence.

Gallatin’s Maggie Strange was among the hitting stars over the course of the last two weeks. She doubled in game two last weekend, singled in game three, tripled and singled in game four, singled again in game five and doubled in the winning run in Sunday’s finale as the Trojanettes delivered a second one-run victory over the Kirksville Katz.

Rachael Schmitz of Jefferson turned in a stellar tournament performance for the Trojanettes on the mound, including a no-hitter and one-hitter. She was also the hard-luck loser of a 1-0 decision at Basehor in which she tossed a no-hitter.
