Dan Dreesen was signed for social studies teacher for next school year during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education held Wednesday, May 16.

The board accepted the resignation of Mrs. Giles, speech teacher, effective at the end of the school year, and hired Patty Stark and Jacob Wilson as speech instructors for next school year.
In other business, the board discussed the cost of putting sound reduction material in the gym.
The budget was amended and signature cards were signed for 2007-2008.
The board reviewed and approved policy updates.
Program reports reviewed and approved included the DSL program; the gifted education program; and the wellness program.
Mrs. Gannon reported an enrollment of  84 students in 7-12 grades and an attendance rate of 95.6% for April. Mr. Collier reported an enrollment of 70 students in elementary school and an attendance rate of 95.3% for April.
The board entered into executive session to discuss a part time math position and family and consumer science openings.
After returning to regular session, the board selected Principal Insurance to provide health insurance for the 2007-2008 school year. Diplomas were signed.
Next meeting was set for Wednesday, June 20.
Board members in attendance were Craig Lambert, Patty Hartley, Ben deJong, Gene Thatcher, Jason Teel, Dian Hulett and Lincoln Cornett. Also present were Mrs. Gannon, Mr. Collier, Mr. Burns and Cheryl Cornett.
