Mary E. House, 86, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center in Cameron.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Coffey. Memorials can be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Mary was born on April 11, 1921, to Otto McCartney and Ina (Pugh) McCartney in Jameson, Mo. She lived in Jameson throughout her childhood and graduated from Jameson High School. She was united in marriage to Ival W. House in Pattonsburg, Mo. He preceded her in death in January of 1984. After their marriage the couple moved to the countryside near Coffey and began farming. Mary and Ival then moved to the Altamont and Winston area where they lived the biggest part of their married life. During that time Mary raised her family and in 1958 she started working at the Gallatin Elementary School where she retired in the early eighty’s.

Mary was a member of the Altamont Lions Club and attended the Altamont United Methodist Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Darryl McCartney, grandson Randy Houghton.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald House and wife Evelyn, Hattiesburg, Miss., Raymond House and wife Tonya, Columbia, S.C., Rodney wife JoAn, Cameron, Mo., daughters, Ruth Tice, Prairie Village, Kan., Ruby Corzier and husband Dale, Paola, Kan., and Roma Moffitt, Knoxville, Tenn., brothers, Nevin McCartney, Springfield, Mo., and John McCartney, Fort Dodge, Iowa., she has 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
