Earlier this year, 7th and 8th grade language arts students at Winston R-6 entered the Creative Communication Poetry Contest.

Their teachers, Kathy Henderson and Chanel Burge, were recently notified that nine out of the 14 students entered were selected for publication in the new edition of “A Celebration of Young Poets.”
These students were selected from thousands of entries across the United States, many of which were not invited to be published.
