Funeral services for Nellie Wheeler were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

Nellie M. Wheeler, 80, Warsaw, formerly of Gallatin, died Friday, May 25, 2007, at Bothwell Regional Health Care Center in Sedalia.
Mrs. Wheeler was born May 14, 1927, to Bill and Lena (Houghton) Orten in Jameson. She attended the Creekmore Country School.
On Sept. 16, 1946, she was united in marriage to Cleo Wheeler in Troy, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1993.
The couple lived in the Chillicothe and Kansas City area for most of their married life. Mrs. Wheeler was employed at the glove factory in Chillicothe for several years and also at Nellie Don Fabrics in Kansas City. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dorothy Terry, and a son, Cleo Randall Wheeler.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Smith, Warsaw, Bill Wheeler, Lee’s Summit, Alan Wheeler, Grandview, Janet Bremer, Peculiar, Janice Wheeler, Warsaw, and Walter T. Wheeler, Rich Hill; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
