Mr. Batson has served 34 years in education, first as a teacher then as high school counselor. Cheryl Bonderer has been an elementary teacher, at several grade levels, for 22 years. Mrs. Bonderer’s fellow teachers and GHS staff wrote the following dedication: ‘To teach is to touch a life forever.’ This phrase fits Cheryl Bonderer well. She has touched many lives over the years she has taught at Covel D. Searcy Elementary. Those that have taught with Cheryl know she is always going above and beyond to find new and creative ways to teach children. She spends a great deal of her summers planning on things to do with her new group of students. Her craft and cooking lessons are always a favorite with students. She is a kind and concerned teacher.”
