Area college students graduate, on honor rolls

MSU

Missouri State University conferred 2,070 degrees to students this spring during commencement ceremonies May 18 at Hammons Student Center.

A total of 1,592 baccalaureate degrees, 458 master’s degrees, 13 specialist degrees and 7 doctorate degrees were conferred. Beyond the standard expectations, 144 students were recognized for their work with a more rigorous curriculum in Missouri State’s Honors College. Scholastic honors were given to 108 students who graduated summa cum laude (with a grade point average of 3.9-4.0 on a 4.0 scale), 113 who graduated magna cum laude (with a GPA of 3.75-3.89) and 324 who graduated cum laude (with a GPA of 3.4-3.74).

Wade A Dixon, Jamesport, Bachelor of Science was among the graduates.

NWMSU

The Office of the Registrar at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville announces the names of students who were named to the Academic or President’s Honor Roll at the end of the 2007 spring trimester. To be included on the Academic Honor Roll a student must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours and attain a grade point average of 3.50 or above on a 4.00 scale. Students named tot he President’s Honor Roll have attained a perfect 4.00 GPA for the trimester.

Northwest’s spring 2007 trimester honor roll from Missouri include: Gallatin, presidents, Roxanne Hostetler and Katie Ward; McFall, academic, Michael Lykins; Pattonsburg, presidents, Brennan Leeper; Winston, academic, Marsha Jennings.

William Jewell

Hattie Rains, Gallatin, sophmore/business administration major, was named to the Dean’s List at William Jewell College, Liberty, for the 2007 spring semester.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average while carrying 14 or more semester hours.
