Daviess County hunters bagged a total of 361 turkeys this season, down 110 turkeys compared to 2006.

The total for statewide harvest was 44,946. This is a decrease of 6,469 compared to 2006. Adult gobbler harvest was down 17%. Juvenile gobbler harvest was up 3%. The state record harvest was in 2004, with 56,882.

The three high counties for the state were Franklin – 880; Texas – 790; Calloway – 734. There were two non-fatal accidents statewide.

The total for the northwest region was 6,602. This is a decrease of 766 compared to 2006. The three high northwest counties were Carroll – 556; Ray – 526; and Harrison – 485.

Totals for other counties surround Daviess were: Caldwell 304; DeKalb 293; Gentry – 378; Grundy – 304; and Livingston 339.

There were no accidents in the northwest region.
