Memorial service for Mildred England was held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory, St. Joseph. Inurnment was at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph.

Mildred L. England, 89, Chillicothe, formerly of Pattonsburg, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Indian Hills Retirement Village.

Mrs. England was born on Aug. 18, 1917, in Gutherie Center, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Price and Anna Faye (Carter) Cameron.

On Oct. 13, 1935, she was married to Nelson T. England in Coffey. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1975.

Mrs. England worked as a cook and maintenance person for the Cameron School District for 16 ½ years. She had lived in Chillicothe since 2003, moving from Princeton, Minn. Prior to living in Minnesota, she had also resided in the Lawson, Cameron, Easton, Stewartsville, and Pattonsburg areas.

Mrs. England was a member of the Heath United Methodist Church in Pattonsburg, and the OES of Pattonsburg. She was a former 4-H leader.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marie Dungan, and a brother, Merle F. Cameron.

Survivors include two sons, J.W. "Dub" England of Chillicothe, and Nelson England of Warsaw; two daughters, Alice Cathey of Collins, and Linda England of Chillicothe; one sister, Phyllis Nichols of Long Beach, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
