Gallatin junior high teams finished fifth at the season-opening Stanberry Relays on April 10 and competed with nine other schools at the Trenton Middle School Relays last Tuesday.

Tory Wood turned in the best performance for the Lady Bulldogs at Stanberry, winning the 1600-meter run (6:40.10) and finishing second in the 800-meter run (2:56.09). Becca Chadwick finished second in the 1600-meter run (6:40.96) and fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:16.12).
For the boys, Logan Henderson placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:04.72) and fifth in the long jump (13-10). John Corwin placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (20.06). The 4×400-meter relay team of Riley Vanatta, Brandon Ness, Justin Taul and Preston Turley took third in 4:39.59.
Individual girls results from Trenton included: Wood, fifth in the high jump and fifth in the 1600-meter run; Chadwick, fifth in the triple jump and sixth in the 1600-meter run; Becca Mott, fifth in the 400-meter dash; and Ashley Burns, second in the 75-meter hurdles.
In girls relay action, the 4×200-meter team of Kristin Critten, Tahler Cameron, Matin Burge and Mott finished fifth; the 4×400-meter relay team of Mott, Chadwick, Burge and Burns placed second; and the 4×100-meter relay team of Ashley Huffman, Natasha Irby, Cameron and Monica Hanson finished sixth.
Individual boys results included: Henderson, fourth in the long jump; Landon Smith, sixth in the long jump, fifth in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 400-meter dash; Corwin, fifth in the 100-meter hurdles and fifth in the 800-meter run;
In boys relay action, the 4×200-meter relay team of Ness, Henderson, Chris Little, and Riley Vanatta finished third; the 4×400-meter relay team of Henderson, Smith, Corwin and Little placed third; and the 4×100-meter team of Vanatta, Little, Taul and Turley finished fourth.
The junior Bulldogs were scheduled to compete in the GRC Meet Tuesday at Grant City. They will wrap up the season with a return trip to Grant City on Thursday for the Tiger Relays.
