A Gallatin man received minor injuries in an accident that occurred at about 7:40 a.m. this morning (Wednesday, April 18), according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident happened as Kevin Gilreath, 26, was westbound on Hwy. 6 and attempted to pass another vehicle at the intersection of Route CC. Another vehicle turned eastbound onto Hwy. 6 at Route CC into the path of Mr. Gilreath’s vehicle. Mr. Gilreath avoided the oncoming vehicle and crossed over Route CC. His 2003 Chevy pickup became airborne and struck a ditch on the west side of Route CC. The pickup came to rest on its wheels.
Mr. Gilreath was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center via Daviess County Ambulance. He was not wearing his seat belt.
The pickup was totaled and towed by Bridgemans of Altamont.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. T. Goolsby, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
