Jamie Brinnen, Kevin Corwin and Levi Michener, all sophomores at Gallatin R-5, will be attending the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) program June 24-27 at William Woods College.

The academy is sponsored by Rotary Clubs of Missouri..

RYLA is a Rotary International program that has been in Missouri for the past eleven years. Rotary Districts 6060, 6040 and 6080 partner to fund and administer the academy. The students are asked to apply through recommendations of Rotarians and local high school administrators/faculty. Students who attend the academy are incoming or outgoing high school sophomores.

This year’s camp will be held at the William Woods College in Fulton, June 24-27. The camp staff is comprised of qualified professional educators, motivational presenters, and outstanding Rotarians. Academy curriculum includes personality self-assessments, a team challenge ropes course, and statewide networking for students, based on service leadership theories of leadership.

These students have demonstrated the qualities that Rotary works to build… leadership capabilities, involvement in their educational community, or a commitment to service.

Rotary International is a service organization established for professionals within communities to come together to share ideas, resources, and talents. Rotary is recognized for many notable members as well as projects worldwide. With a membership of over 1.2 million men and women, Rotarians are involved with projects including the eradication of Polio, donations of educational supplies, scholarships, and many other worthwhile national and international causes.
