The Gallatin Bulldog Pride Band competed in the State Band Festival at Northwest Missouri State University on March 30, receiving I rating from all four judges for the first time in the band’s history.
Three of the judges adjudicated prepared work, while the fourth judged sight-reading. The Band received a I rating and two I+ ratings from the judges on the prepared pieces and they earned a I rating from the sight-reading judge. This gave the band the highest composite I rating possible. The Band has shown yearly improvement in their ratings over the past five years, said instructor Gene Edwards.
