The Gallatin FFA Chapter held the Area II Contest on March 27.
Kyle Croy was inducted into the Area II officer team as the Area Parliamentarian. Contest and places are as follows: The first ever Gallatin Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Dennelle Rhoades, Jonathon Arnold, Kari Youtsey, Megan Chadwick, Courtney Ray and Sam Mott placed 2nd. The scrapbook made by Megan Chadwick, Courtney Ray, and Maggie Strange placed 1st. The treasurer’s book made by Kari Youtsey and the secretary’s book made by Dennelle Rhoades each place 3rd and received gold. Lee Deutschman place 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking; Laura Youtsey place 3rd and received silver in Advanced Prepared Public Speaking; Casey Alden received gold and will be alternate to districts for Creed Speaking. In Division II Public Speaking Phillip Arnold received 2nd and gold.
Record books were also judged at the Area II Contest Night Casey Alden received 2nd and gold in Beginning Production Record Book; Kyle Croy placed 1st and received gold in Completed Placement Record Book; and Maggie Strange received gold Completed Production Record Book. Those receiving Area Degrees were Brandon Meseberg, Samantha Mott, Ethan Merrigan, Derrick Eaton, Dennelle Rhoades, Crystal Rogers, Colt Bohannon, Laura Youstey, Kari Youtsey, and Riley Rains. Those placing in Area Proficiency Awards were Kari Youtsey 1st in Ag Communications, Boston Etherton 3rd in Agricultural Mech Energy Systems, Riley Rains 3rd in Agricultural Processing, Kyle Croy 2nd in Agricultural Sales- Entrepreneurship, Crystal Rogers 2nd in Agricultural Sales-Placement, Laura Youtsey 3rd in Agricultural Education, Riley Rains 2nd in Diversified Agricultural Production, and Derrick Sprague 2nd in Diversified Horticulture, Riley Rains 1st in Diversified Livestock Production-Entrepreneurship, Robert Rhoades 1st in Diversified Livestock Production-Placement, Brett Wilkinson 3rd Emerging Ag Technology, Shay Esbeck 1st in Environment Science and Natural Resource Management, Kyle Croy 2nd in Forage Production, Colt Bohannon 3rd in Grain Production-Placement, Phillip Arnold 3rd in Home and/or Community Development, Kelly Critten 3rd in Outdoor Recreation, Riley Rains 3rd in Specialty Animal Production, Kyle Croy 2nd in Swine Production-Entrepreneurship, Riley Rains 2nd in Swine Production Placement, and Lee Deutschman 3rd in Vegetable Production. Riley Rains also was named the Area Star Agribusinessman.
