Funeral services for Evelyn Bradley will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be at Brown Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gallatin Senor Citizens Center.

Evelyn Bradley, 80, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at the Liberty Hospital.

Mrs. Bradley was born June 18, 1926, to John Bunn and Nellie (DeWalt) Taylor in Cameron. Her family lived in Cameron and she attended school there. In the early 50’s she moved to Kansas City, where she was employed at the Jenkins Music Store as an elevator operator.

On March 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to Carl Bradley in Bentonville, Ark. The couple lived in the Kansas City area for a short period of time. During that time she was employed at the Rival Mfg. Co.

The couple moved to Gallatin to make their home and raise their family. Mrs. Bradley worked at the Richard Café for 12 years. She was later employed at the East Side Nursing Home and worked at the Cox Nursing Home/Sunrise Nursing Home for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Mrs. Bradley attended the Methodist Church in Gallatin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, Grace, Leona, Goldie Irene, Geneva, Juanita and Mary, one brother, Raymond, and a grandson, James Dean Wortman.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Carl, of the home; two sons, Blackie and Whitey Wortman, both of Gallatin; one daughter, Carla Wood of Gallatin; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
