GEM (Gifted Enrichment & Motivation) Day activities are offered to students who participate in gifted education programs. Ty, Dylan, and Rachel are students in Mrs. Kim Brammer’s enrichment class. Students enroll in a variety of classes, and parent sessions are also available. GEM Day was sponsored by the Gifted Association of Missouri.

Students in Mrs. Brammer’s enrichment classes celebrated Gifted Education Week March 5-9. The students have been learning about the weather and natural disasters. All of the elementary classes and the Head Start students visited the enrichment classroom. The enrichment students displayed homemade weather instruments and explained how each instrument worked. The students made homemade barometers, anemometers, rain gauges, thermometers, and wind vanes. The students also had the opportunity to see a homemade tornado simulator which used steam to produce a "tornado" that reached the ceiling of the enrichment classroom. Mrs. Brammer stated, "The students have enjoyed the many experiments we have done with this unit. They have also enjoyed the hands-on activities such as making the weather instruments. We appreciate everyone for helping us celebrate Gifted Education Week.
