The Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission recently awarded the contract for three bridge replacements on Route 6 in Daviess County.
The contract for the project was awarded to Chester Bross Construction of Palymyra, Mo., in the amount of $6,660,838.55. The project will include three bridge replacements located approximately one mile east of Route 13 north junction to one mile east of Route K near Gallatin.
The contractor began work on the initial stages of the project this week. They began clearing and grubbing in preparation of bridge work which should begin within the next couple of weeks weather permitting. Route 6 will remain open to traffic during this bridge construction project. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2007.
